On Thursday June 19
Th, at the
Clairton Municipal Building, the Allegheny County Health Department will hold it's final public hearing on the proposed coke oven battery. The coke oven battery will replace three older batteries and will be equipped with state-of-the-art controls that will limit pollution. This is the first of two proposed coke oven battery's for U.S. Steel's
Clairton Coke Works. The first battery is expected to be installed by 2011 and the second by 2014.
