The Pittsburgh City Council's Green Government Task Force has presented recommendations for becoming more eco-friendly. The Climate Action Plan recommends, for instance, looking for ways to reduce the environmental impact of the city's vehicle fleet--perhaps with the purchase of more hybrid vehicles. A bill introduced today would create a trust fund for green
initiatives. Councilman Bill Peduto hopes to have a resolution supporting the Climate Action Plan and the trust fund approved by the time the Council adjourns for its August recess, so that the city can start to implement this fall.
