A stained glass mural designed by a local youth group is being unveiled this evening. PNC Moving the Lives of Kids Marketing Director Zandra Specter says the mural, made up of five panels the size of door frames, is a beauty is more ways than one.
She says the kids, working for community service hours, weren’t enthusiastic about the project initially.
“After a couple of days, you could actually see the change in their attitude,” Specter says.
In the more obvious beauty aspect, the transformation from specks of glass to a mural of a landscape was impressive as well. She says a mere description could not do the mural proper justice.
“I can tell you there’s trees and there’s grass and there’s sky, but to be able to witness it is the only way you’re going to experience it,” Specter says.
The unveiling will be held at 5222 Penn Ave. at 5 p.m. today.
