The Pennsylvania State System of Higher Education recorded the largest total enrollment increase in its 26-year history this fall. Nearly 117,000 students are taking classes at the fourteen universities. This 4,338-student increase over last year marks the 13th consecutive growth in enrollment.
Minority enrollment is also at an all-time high. A record of 13,860 minority students are taking classes, nearly 12% of the student population.
All but one of the universities set a record for enrollment this fall. PASSHE says this is because of their committment to limiting tuition increases while enhancing academic programs.
