Federal Tax Credit Awarded To North Side Development Group

The North Side Community Development Fund has received a $4 million federal tax credit for its Federal-North redevelopment plan. The plan involves the Garden Theatre, the former Masonic Hall, the Bradbury apartment building and two other apartment buildings. The center of the redevelopment project is the Garden Theatre which would be turned into a theatre-brewpub with every other row of seats taken out with tables installed where patrons could enjoy beer, pizza, popcorn and soda while watching second run films. The North Side Community Development Fund was one on 99 recipients of federal tax credits and has received tax credits for three of the last four years.
