Toomey to Run for Senate

Former congressman Pat Toomey is using tax day as a backdrop to kick off his second run against US Senator Arlen Specter. A series of Radio ad TV ads began running today. This week Toomey quite his job as the head of the Washington based anti-tax organization “The Club or Growth” making way for a run. However Toomey has been acting like a candidate for weeks. In fact Specter has run anti Toomey campaign ads. The 47-year old ran against Specter in the Republican primary 6-years ago and came close to beating the incumbent. Toomey campaigns as a far right Republican against the much more moderate Specter.
