Flight 93 Memorial On Schedule

Although the Flight 93 Memorial in Shanksville, PA will not be totally complete by the tenth anniversary of 9/11, many features are taking shape, according to Keith Newlin, Superintendent of National Parks in Western Pennsylvania. He says the features closest to where the flight ended will be ready, including a memorial wall inscribed with the 40 names of passengers and crew and a long wall flanking the debris field and the remains field.

Newlin says only the grading will be done at the future sites of the Visitors Center and the 40-tree memorial grove.

A "high-profile" visitor is expected at the ribbon cutting scheduled for 12:30 in the afternoon of September 10th, so Newlin recommends people arrive early and be prepared for security screening. He advises visitors to bring their own water.
