A new state law will require health care workers to wear uniform ID's with their name, title and a photo in 2011. The Home Health Care Worker ID Act will was proposed by state Representative Jennifer Mann, a Democrat from Lehigh County. The law applies to health care workers who are delivering direct care to patients. "The idea actually stemmed from a home bound constituent of mine who had called with concerns to the fact that daily health care workers were coming to his door and he sometimes wondered if they really were who they said they were," said Mann. "What it really ultimately became was something much more expansive than that to include all health care workers whether they are in a physicians office, in a medical facility, in a hospital." The program will be implemented over a 5 year period.
