Mayor Encourages Walking
Pittsburgh mayor Luke Ravenstahl asked city employees to join him today in a 10,000 step challenge. The CityFit program, which began in 2007, gives employees a pedometer for 12 weeks to track their steps and encourage physical activity and wellness. The mayor was already wearing his meter and had a jump start of 72 steps before heading out with a group of employees on a walk from the City County Building on Grant Street to PNC Firstside Park on First Avenue (0.2 miles away).
