Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has been accused of, but not charged with at this time, sexually assaulting a 20 year old woman at a dance club in Milledgeville, Georgia early Friday. Roethlisberger owns an off-season home in that area. Deputy Police Chief Richard Mallone says Roethlisberger and some friends had visited other restaurants and bars earlier in the evening. Mallone says the alleged victim is a student at Georgia College and State University at Milledgeville and she claims that she was sexually assaulted and identified Roethlisberger as the perpetrator.
Roethlisberger's agent Ryan Tollner said "given the prior accusation against Ben, we are skeptical of motive but we will continue to cooperate with everyone involved."
In July, Roethlisberger was sued by a woman who claims he raped her in a Lake Tahoe hotel in 2008. She never reported the incident to police and no criminal charges were filed. But that lawsuit is still pending.
