Palestinian Doctor Speaks about a New Understanding in Gaza

Dr. Izzeldin Abuelaish has been fighting for peace in Gaza for more than a decade. The Palestinian doctor first came to understand the similarities between Israelis and Palestinians when he began work as an OB/GYN and now feels a better understanding by all involved is the only way the region can find a lasting peace. Abuelaish lost three daughters and a niece in the most recent conflict, when a shell from an Israeli tank hit his home. Despite the tragedy, or maybe because of it, Abuelaish has redoubled his efforts to bring peace to Gaza. He has recently been nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize. He came to Pittsburgh today to give several lectures. Listen to an interview with Dr. Abuelaish.
