Squirrel Hill Man Tries Write-in Campaign for Mayor
This is the final weekend of campaigning for candidates in Tuesday's Primary Election. Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, who is being challenged for renomination by Councilman Patrick Dowd and attorney Carmen Robinson, has sent mail to registered Republicans asking them to write in his name on Tuesday. That upset Squirrel Hill community organizer Josh Wander. There is no G.O.P. candidate for mayor on the ballot. So, just days before the vote, Wander has decided to run a write-in campaign. Wander said the people of Pittsburgh must have a "choice to break free from the one party stranglehold." In his statement, Wander said that the current pension deficit as a top priority.
