The Women and Girls Foundation has organized a community candlelight vigil in honor of the Collier massacre victims, at the portico of the City-County Building in downtown Pittsburgh. The vigil will run for an hour, starting at 5:30 p.m., and many community groups, religious representatives, and elected officials will be in attendance to offer their thoughts and non-denominational prayers.
Women and Girls Foundation Executive Director Heather Arnet says it’s important this shooting is viewed as a hate crime. She says this tragedy should mark the start of a new attitude towards violence against women.
