Collier Fitness Center Shooting Leaves 4 Dead, 9 Wounded

A man opened fire on an aerobics class in the L.A. Fitness Club in Collier Township around 8:15 last night, killing four and wounding nine. The shooter walked into the gym- where he was a member, carrying a gym bag that held two handguns and a note. Witnesses say he stood for a moment in the corner of a Latin Impact fitness class before turning out the lights and opening fire. Police say the shooter discharged 52 rounds in the workout room before turning the gun on himself. All of those shot were women. Allegheny County Police Superintendent Charles Moffatt says the note indicates the shooter never intended to leave the facility alive. An acquaintance of the gunman was in the class and is among the wounded.
