Carlisle Released From Halfway House
Former Pittsburgh Councilwoman Twanda Carlisle is now on parole. She left a halfway house this morning after serving a one year sentence for taking kickbacks while in office. Carlisle will spend one year on parole, during which she must have a job. But a spokesman with the Pennsylvania Board of Probation and Parole says Carlisle will not be allowed to have a job in which she could handle other people's money. She is also not allowed to contact any co-defendants in her case. Carlisle pleaded no contest in 2007 to taking about $43,000 in kickbacks.
