Casorio Wants Old Voting Machines Back

A state representative from Westmorland County wants his fellow lawmakers to petition the federal government to force counties to scrap electronic voting machines. Representative James Casorio says he does not trust the electronic machines because they can be hacked, can lose data is there is a power outage and do not provide a paper trail. Casorio has introduced a resolution that would ask congress to reverse the Help America Vote Act of 2000. He says the old leaver machines are reliable, provide a paper trail and are easier for seniors to use. He says nearly all counties have kept their old machines and can press them back into service. If not, he says an old fashion paper ballot will do just fine. Casorio says if this were a state issue he would be leading the charge in Pennsylvania. However, since it is a federal law, congress needs to realize it messed up the first time and just walk away from its error and start all over again.
