Public Safety Committee to Look into 911 Procedure

Public Safety Committee Chairman Jim Burn wants to know exactly what happened on April 4, when a 911 dispatcher failed to communicate with police that there were firearms in the Stanton Heights home where three Pittsburgh Police officers were killed. Burn says even the best emergency service providers cannot be accounted for human error, but it's important to investigate firearms procedures after such a tragedy. The key witness of the Wednesday hearing is going to be Allegheny County Chief of Emergency Services Robert Full, which Burns calls the best of his kind in the country. He says Full was candid and straight-forward in admitting that human error was involved in the dispatch call, and Burns says he expects Full to be the same way when it comes to procedure changes.
