It was 7 days ago that a quiet spring morning was shattered by gunfire in the Stanton Heights section of the city of Pittsburgh. Two Pittsburgh Police Officers responding to a call about a domestic dispute, and a fellow officer who just ended his shift but who lived nearby and decided to back up his colleagues, were shot and killed.
A private funeral will be held this morning for Officer Stephen Mayhle in his native Indiana County. Hundreds of friends, family and police officers gathered outside the Lefdahl Funeral Home in Indiana Borough yesterday to pay their final respects.
Officers Eric Kelly and Paul Sciullo II were buried in Pittsburgh cemeteries following Thursday's memorial service for all three officers at the Petersen Events Center.
