Tense Saturday in Stanton Heights

Pittsburgh and State Police have surrounded a home at 1016 Fairfield Street in the Stanton Heights section of the city after a gunman opened fire on officers. Police spokeswoman Diane Richard says the situation began when officers responded to a domestic incident around 7 o'clock this morning. Richard says that 3 to 4 officers have been wounded but she had no details on their conditions. Richard confirmed that medics have not been able to get to all of the officers because of the line of fire. Richard says in addition to the gunman there is one other person inside the home and negotiators are on the scene. Police have blocked off several streets in the Stanton Heights area.
