Penn Hills Officer Killed

Allegheny County Police are investigating the shooting death of a Penn Hills Police Officer. Officer Michael Crawshaw was called to a domestic disturbance last night and was apparently waiting in his cruiser for back up when he was shot and killed. Neighbors say they heard as many as 10 shots. Police responding to the scene say they also found a body in the house. Officials say they have very little information but are looking for an SUV seen driving away from the scene and want to question a 27-year-old man believed to have been carry an assault rifle. County Executive Dan Onorato say his thoughts and prayers are with the family and, “I have made the full resources of the Allegheny County police and crime lab available to investigate this terrible incident. We will not rest until we have found those responsible. I have also ordered flags to be flown at half-staff on all Allegheny County buildings and facilities in honor and memory of Officer Crawshaw.”
