ALCOSAN Nomination to be Reviewed
The Pittsburgh Ethics Hearing Board has agreed to review Mayor Luke Ravenstahl's nomination of his brother, Adam Ravensthal to the Allegheny County Sanitary Board. Councilman Bill Peduto asked the ethics board to determine if the appointment is legal. Sister Patrice Hughes, who chairs the ethics board, says they will discuss the nomination at their June 11th meeting. The mayor nominated his brother May 19, a day after Adam Ravenstahl won a special election to serve out the term of former State Representative Don Walko, who is now an Allegheny County judge. City Solicitor says the nomination is lawful because it's up to council whether to approve it or reject it.
