Bill Aims at Teaching Students Money Management
State Representative Mark Longietti (D-Mercer) is sponsoring legislation (HB 101) that would add personal finance education to the Pennsylvania educational curriculum. Under the measure, the Department of Education would provide school districts with materials and lessons to aid in the teaching of practical education. Longietti says these lessons would include topics such as credit cards, debt management, investing, and basic economics. He says by educating our students in these fields, we can better our economy as a whole. House Bill 101 passed the Education Committee during last year's session.
