Homeless Program Open Again

The Homelessness Prevention & Rapid Re-Housing Program (HPRP) run by Pittsburgh and Allegheny County has been re-opened. HPRP provides financial assistance and services to homeless individuals and families, as well as those who would become homeless without assistance. Individuals and families can call the HPRP Hotline, 1-877-350-HPRP (4774), from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. Information on the program is also available online. To qualify for the help households must have an income below 50 percent of the area median income. For a family of four that equates to $31,250 a year. The family must also be homeless on the verge of becoming homeless and have no other housing options or financial resources to obtain housing. The HPRP is funded through Federal Stimulus grants and the state.
