Tom Corbett has resumed his duties as governor of Pennsylvania after undergoing back surgery this morning at Allegheny General Hospital in Pittsburgh. Corbett spokesman Kevin Harley said that the governor has regained consciousness and that Lieutenant Governor Jim Cawley was no longer serving as acting governor. The surgery is part of the 61 year old Corbett's treatment for spinal stenosis, a narrowing of the spinal canal that can lead to pain and decreased activity. Physicians are to discuss the governor's surgery at a news conference at this hour.
