Mayor Endorsed Incumbent Grabs District 9
In his first term on City Council Reverend Ricky Burgess frequently sided with Pittsburgh Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, often putting him in conflict with fellow council members. But after tonight's firm win over Democrat endorsed Phyllis Copeland-Michell and community activist Lucille Prater-Holliday, Burgess says voters stand behind his positions. He also noted that he collaborates with colleagues, "I have passed legislation, some of it unanimously: Jordan Miles, CDBG (community development block grants) reform, Public Safety Agenda. I continue to advocate for the principles that I believe in." He says he will push for more resources in undeserved areas and bring economic development to communities like Homewood, Brushton, Lincoln-Lemington and Larimer.
