PAT Soliciting Feedback

The Port Authority is revamping its routes and it is asking riders to evaluate all 187 bus lines in an attempt to make the system more efficient and user friendly. One overriding complaint is that the routes are too complicated. With 16,000 stops, Pittsburgh has twice as many routes and stops as cities that are three times its size. Peter Behrman, Assistant General Manager of Planning and Development says having so many stops means that many of them are only serviced twice a day, and people that miss their bus are out of luck. One alternative is having fewer stops--which means a longer walk to a main route, but also much more bus availability. Behrman says they'll take the feedback and use it to create three new alternatives and share them with the public to find out what riders think is the best solution. People can leave feedback at tdp.portauthority.org.
