Franco "Dok" Harris Not Finished

Franco "Dok" Harris got about 25% of the vote as an independent candidate for mayor. Peoples' needs don't go away just because the election is over, says Harris, so work starts tomorrow on the next phase of his commitment to the city of Pittsburgh. Many of the issues raised in his campaign can be run very effectively from the private sector, so he will be pushing to end homelessness, get small businesses into the neighborhoods, encourage entrepreneurs, and building urban farms.

And Harris says he has not ruled out seeking another public office, if the opportunity arises. He would like to see a whole new generation of leaders arise: women, minorities, veterans, and union members. :

For now, though, it's back to the family business for Franco "Dok" Harris.
