Mayor Luke Ravenstahl, accompanied by regional economic development officials, will deliver the keynote address at a meeting of international business leaders in Shanghai, China and then travel to Seoul, Korea, which is hosting the next G-20 meeting in November.
Dennis Yablonsky, CEO of the Allegheny Conference on Community Development, says the publicity Pittsburgh received as host of the G-20 last year has spread the story of the city's economic transformation around the world, attracting interest both as a model and as a place with potential for business relationships.
Yablonsky says in both Shanghai and Seoul, there will be group meetings with companies who might be interested in making job-creating capital investments in the Pittsburgh region.
Officials with the Pittsburgh Regional Alliance will also go on the trip, October 6-15.
