State Senator elect James Brewster from Allegheny County will be sworn to the State Senate at the capitol in Harrisburg on Wednesday afternoon.
Brewster, 62 has previously mayor of McKeesport and a member of City Council. He won a special election to replace former Senator Sean Logan, who resigned his senate seat in August for a position with The University of Pittsburgh Medical Center.
A democrat, he will represent the 45th Senatorial District.
Brewster said the first thing he will do is set an example as to how he thinks government should be reformed by not using a state car. "We're not going to take the per-Diem, we're not going to take the cost-of-living raises...I think that's an important step that people understand that reform starts with the individuals, the senators, the state reps...its a commitment I made and a commitment I can keep," he said.
