The race for Pennsylvania's open Supreme Court set has become contentious in recent weeks with both candidates running partisan attack ads. The Republican candidate is Joan Orie Melvin who has been a member of Superior Court for the last 11 years while the Democratic contender is Jack Panella, who has sat on the Superior Court bench for 4 years. Currently on the State Supreme Court, there are 3 Republicans and 3 Democrats.
