Saturday Is Medication Clean Up Day In Pittsburgh
With grant money from the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency the city of Pittsburgh will have two collection sites for old or unused medications. Collections will be between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. on Saturday at the Kingsley Association at 6435 Frankstown Ave and the West End Center at 80 Wabash Street. Mohamad Arif Ali of the Pennsylvania Medical Society says non medical use of prescription drugs has increased by 80 percent in recent years in part because youths say they are more comfortable taking prescription drugs. All medication collected will be disposed of in an environmentally friendly way.
