Western Pa. Casinos Test Their Table Games

Table game trials will take place at the Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh, the Meadows Racetrack and Casino in Washington County, and Presque Isle Downs Casino in Erie today. If all goes well, the games will begin Thursday morning at 6:00 a.m.

Those games include blackjack, poker, roulette, and craps.

Bets will be limited to five or six dollars. At the Rivers, proceeds will benefit the Mario Lemieux Foundation; at the Meadows, the trial run will benefit the United Way of Washington County.

The Rivers' George Matta says this will be almost the same as slots testing.

"They will audit our process, our procedures to ensure that we follow everything and it's reported correctly. Everything that we need to do to report to the state will be audited and tested," says Matta.

Test runs will begin in a few days at central and eastern Pennsylvania casinos.
