Downtown Pittsburgh no longer has a Hilton Hotel. Hilton Hotels and Resorts said it has canceled its agreement with Shubh Hotels, the owner of the hotel in Pittsburgh's Golden Triangle. Hilton issued a statement saying the decision to end the Franchise License Agreement was "due to a violation of the terms" but would not provide details. That means the hotel can no longer use the Hilton brand.
The announcement comes just days after a representative for Shubh Hotels said phase 2 of a major renovation of the hotel would move into high gear next week. Last week Shubh replaced Virginia-based Crescent Hotels with Dallas-based Prism Hotels as the manager of the downtown Pittsburgh hotel.
