Flora Leaves GBA
Rebecca Flora is leaving the Green Building Alliance after more than ten years at the helm. She was the first employee of the alliance and says the region has a come a long way since 1997. She says originally her roll was to educate and convince builders that making the choice to go green is the smart choice. Flora will become the senior vice president for education and research at the U.S. Green Building Council. She says whom ever fills her office next will spend less time educating builders and the public but will have to spend more time advocating for new laws and research. Flora says spreading the message beyond Pittsburgh and into the greater region will also be key. Flora says she feels she has done everything she can in Pittsburgh and is ready to hand over the mantle.
