Yellow Cab Co. Of Pittsburgh Fined $4,000
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission has accepted a settlement agreement from Yellow Cab Co. of Pittsburgh. The PUC alleged multiple violations of the public utility code and commission regulations against the cab company. The alleged violations were for failure to properly keep log sheet records, failure to require that drivers possess valid drivers' licenses while operating vehicles and failure to maintain safe, adequate, efficient and reasonable service and facilities for the safety and accommodation of the public. Yellow Cab allegedly had inadequate safety belts in some vehicles, doors that would not open and hood latches that were faulty. Yellow Cab Co. of Pittsburgh has signed a civil settlement that agrees to no wrong doing but requires the company to pay a $4,000 fine.
