This weekend, October 16 through 18, the local "Bioneers" chapter is holding its first regional conference in the North Side. Three Rivers Bioneers Conference Coordinator Chris Farber says the national organization has many areas of focus, including green jobs, sustainability, the economy and the arts. But the one particular theme for the meeting in Pittsburgh will be about environmental restoration of water.
Ongoing exhibits and activities complement the program. This includes an urban chicken coop, art exhibits of recycled materials and spoken word performances.
