Iron City Brewery May Be Historic

The Iron City Brewing Co. complex may be spared from demolition. The buildings have been nominated for historic designation by architect Keith Cochran. Cochran says he does not want to see buildings that are a big part of Lawrencville's charm be destroyed. The historic nomination process for the buildings is underway with a public hearing in front of the city's historic review commission set for today. After the hearing there will be vote and if approved, action by City Council to approve the designation. Cochran says he has not run into any resistance and says even the buildings owners want to see the nomination process succeed.
