PennEnvironment Studies Clean Energy Act

PennEnvironment has released a report on the House version of the American Clean Energy and Security Act and determined that while not a perfect piece of legislation the bill is a good starting point for securing Americas energy future. Energy and clean air advocate, Nathan Wilcox says that the bill does good things in promoting the use of clean and renewable energies but does not go far enough in restricting the green house gas emissions of current energy plants. Wilcox says that while the bill invests money in the research of clean coal technologies that money is being wasted when there are much cleaner ways of providing energy ready to go. He said that clean energy companies like Gamesa, which operate wind farms in Pennsylvania and have had to recently lay off over 100 workers, will benefit through economic incentives that the bill provides. the American Clean Energy and Security Act is to go before the Senate some time this week
