Delegation From Pittsburgh Goes to Vietnam

The group lead by Pittsburgh Regional Alliance Senior Vice President Roger Cranville will meet with members of the private sector, business development organizations and government leaders. Cranville says when you go to Asia you need to meet with government officials. He says they are very much in control of the economy and are “very find of 5-year plans.” He says you want to know what those long range plans are and become part of them. Cranville says Vietnam is a great place for Pittsburgh businesses to be focusing their attention in the soft economy. He says the country’s economy is expected to see 4-8% growth in 2009, it is “open for business” and people there are very interested in green technology. Cranville says green technology is Pittsburgh “sweet spot.” The delegation, including representatives from 9 businesses, leaves February 14th. With 87 million citizens, Vietnam is the 13th largest country in the world.
