Two Pennsylvanians Headed to Phoenix

Thanks to the Steelers' 27-23 win last night, two lucky Pennsylvanians will soon be heading to Phoenix for a quick getaway vacation. Governor Ed Rendell entered a wager with Arizona Governor Janice Brewer. Had the Cardinals won, an Arizona resident would get a trip to Pittsburgh including dinner and a show, a ticket to a professional sports game and admission to several museums. Since Pittsburgh won, a Pennsylvania resident will win a trip for two to Phoenix including a round of golf, dinner and tickets to a game. Starting today, Pennsylvanians can write a 500-word essay on why they are Steelers fans and submit it to the state’s web site www.pa.gov. Rendell’s spokesperson Chuck Ardo says the governor wanted to find a new way to make the traditional “big game bet” between elected officials.
