Educational Achievement Gap Appears Early
As in most urban school districts, there is a significant racial achievement gap in the Pittsburgh Public Schools. Head Start and other preschool programs under the aegis of the school district work to get children ready to learn when they start school; universities, foundations and community groups can play a role also.
