U.S. Senator Arlen Specter speaks to the Democratic State Committee this afternoon in Pittsburgh to try to win their support. Specter switched parties in April and announced he would run in the 2010 Democratic Primary for Senate. Some in the crowd today might be skeptical but Pennsylvania Governor Ed Rendell says Specter has his full support and all the Senator has to do to convince other Democrats is to point to his record on issues that Democrats hold dear.
Rendell praised Specter last night at a fundraising dinner honoring the late Lieutenant Governor Catherine Baker Knoll.
