Pennsylvania Highlands Community College will begin offering classes at their Somerset Education Center in January.
President Walter Aasonevich says the classes offered will be limited, but the campus will begin offering full degrees within a couple years.
He says this campus will be beneficial in many ways.
First, he says there are already many people who commute from the Somerset County area to other campuses like Richland five days a week. With this new campus, they might only have to drive outside of Somerset a couple times a week.
Aasonevich says it will also help out the need for work force education training in Somerset County, and it will create jobs.
