Governor Supports LCB Investigation

"All conflicts of interest should be investigated." That was Governor Ed Rendell's response to questions about the Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board's new training program. The president of the West End-based firm providing the customer service training, Solutions 21, is married to an LCB regional manager. Solutions 21 was selected out of five companies that bid for the contract.

But Rendell is defending the program itself, which will cost $173,000. He says studies have suggested that the training could improve sales, and he's proud that LCB revenue has increased during his time in office.
