McDonald's Drug Bust

The Allegheny County District Attorney is threatening to shut down three McDonald's fast food restaurants downtown because of illegal drug activity. D.A. Stephen Zappala Jr. yesterday announced the arrest of 48-year-old John Eckard, a McDonald's employee at the Smithfield Street location, on charges he illegally sold prescription drugs to an undercover informant. Zappala says the restaurants will close unless the franchises' owner cooperates with authorities.
