Poplawski to Waive Preliminary Hearing

The lawyer for the man accused of lying in wait to kill three Pittsburgh Police officers has asked a judge to cancel a preliminary hearing set for Friday. Court appointed lawyer Lisa Middleman has instead asked for a brief court appearance this morning. By waiving the preliminary hearing Richard Poplawski is admitting that there is enough evidence to hold him for trial. Poplawski faces a long list of charges steaming from the shooting deaths of Pittsburgh Police officers Eric Kelly, Stephen Mayhle and Paul Sciullo. The officers were responding to a domestic dispute call April 4th.
