Four State Related Univerisities To Be Included In Stimulus Funding

The United States Department of Education has said Governor Ed Rendell can not exclude Temple, Penn State, Pitt or Lincoln Universities from receiving stimulus funds dedicated for state related universities. Now the Governor must reapply for the stimulus funds and include the four universities on the application. 14 out of Pennsylvania's 19 Congressman wrote to U.S. Education Secretary Arne Duncan in an effort to have the 14 universities included in the stimulus funding. Penn State University Spokesman Jeff Rustin said the decision will most likely allow for the university to lower the amount of an expected tuition increase.
