Mayoral Candidate Urges Local Students to Stick Around

Keeping kids from the area in Pittsburgh throughout their lives is crucial to the city's well-being, says Democratic mayoral candidate Carmen Robinson. Even more important, she says, is getting their input on what factors would make them stay. Consequently, Robinson has created a contest in which local students send her their ideas on what would make Pittsburgh a more attractive place for young people to remain past high school. The incentive? "If they give a good idea to my campaign, they'll be recognized for that idea... [Also,] it's around prom time for them, and we're willing to give out to the top three winners a prom package, which is really a limo package to the prom," says Robinson. Entries in the contest do not have to be made in essay form. She says submissions must be made on her campaign website by April 19, in time to order limousines for proms in the area.
