The Port Authority of Allegheny County is stilling welcoming comments and suggestions about the final proposed plan to take effect next year, but that time formally ends September 30 at 4pm. The plan that is to be implemented next March includes introducing a rapid bus system from Oakland to Downtown and the airport, and renumbering and naming routes to make the system easier to learn and understand. Judi McNeil, spokeswoman for the Port Authority of Allegheny County, says approximately 2,000 comments have been received since the beginning of the formal comment period. McNeil says there have been mixed comments, varying from positive ones to ones pleading to keep specific routes from being cut. She also says others were confused about what kinds of changes were being made. For more information about the changes or to file a comment, go to tdp.portauthority.org.
