First Lady Michele Obama will host a luncheon today on the North Side. Museum Director Tom Sokolowski says many of the guests may already know Andy Warhol's art through traveling exhibitions seen by 8 million people in 49 cities around the world over the last ten years. Or, it's possible some of them have been to Pittsburgh before--Sokolowski says the Warhol gets more international visitors than other museums or tourist attractions in the city.
Sokolowski says the museum was a natural choice as a G20 venue because Andy Warhol's rise from blue collar roots to world fame as an artist parallels Pittsburgh's transformation from blue collar industries to a high-tech economy.
